Journey Theater Project

The Journey Theatre Project invites you to an interactive virtual play reading on July 2nd at 7pm.

Every 28 Hour Plays was conceived by Claudia Alick in the wake of Michael Brown's murder and a 2012 study which found that in America, every 28 hours a black person is killed extrajudicially by a vigilante, security guard or police officer.

The 28 Hour Plays workshop is a series of short plays written by playwrights from across the country in response to this study. They are meant to be read by a group of people to spark dialogue and shifts in perspective. The Journey Theatre Project will facilitate the readings and conversation, we hope you will join as Actor Participants or Audience Participants.

If you join us as an Actor Participant you will be in the ensemble of 12 that reads and discusses eight, one-minute plays. The plays will be available via screen share - no need to prepare. You will be asked to take on roles you might never get to play in life or on stage.

spots limited. suggested ticket price: SOLD OUT

If you join as an Audience Participant, you will participate as a witness, your camera and mic off. You will be encouraged to engage with the plays via the chat box, submitting questions, dialoguing with fellow audience members and with the ensemble at the end of the reading.

suggested ticket price: $30
